Snip Pit

Spaying and neutering is more important than just population control. It can also decrease reproductive based behaviors such as wandering and aggression as well as preventing multiple diseases common in intact dogs.                Dr, Matt Slentz DVM
The Snip Pit program is our spay/neuter program. We offer FREE spay and neuter surgeries to all pit bulls in the Sheboygan County area.  We do not have an income restriction.  We just want to see less of these dogs in shelters, and population control is one way to do that.  We are able to offer this program in part due to our partnership with Sheboygan County Humane Society.  We depend 100% on public donations to cover the cost of the program.

It doesn't stop there!!!!!!  We also want you to help your dog become an upstanding citizen.  How can you do that????  At time of surgery, we will cover the cost of necessary vaccines and micro chip.  Your dog will leave surgery with a few less parts, but will have gained so much more.  And, you can rest easy knowing you will NEVER have to find homes for unwanted puppies, your dog is now up to date on vaccines, and is ready to go!  We think that's a HUGE win!!!!!

So what do you have to do to get all of this for your dog?  It's pretty simple, just follow these instructions:

1. Fill out the application found at the bottom of the page and either email it back to us, or snail mail it to us.

2.Read through and initial each paragraph of the Libality Waiver.  Sign and date the bottom as well. Either email or snail mail it to us along with your application.

3. You must have a pit bull dog.  You CANNOT bring your labrador in for free surgery.  We love ALL dogs, but our organization is here to specifically help pit bulls.  You will be asked to text us a pitcure of your dog (and if you show up with anything other than a pit bull on surgery day....sorry....NO GO!)

4. You must be able to show proof that you do indeed live in Sheboygan County.  Yes, we would LOVE to pay to "fix" every single pit bull out there, but it's not going to happen.  You will need a driver's license or some type of bill showing your name and address.

5. Once you are approved, you will be contacted by us.  You will be asked to sign a liability waiver and show residency.  You will then be given your voucher.  Once you receive your voucher, you will take it to the Sheboygan County Humane Society to schedule your dog's surgery.  You will be required to pay a $30.00 REFUNDABLE deposit to hold your dog's surgery.  You will also be required to fill out paperwork from SCHS.

6. SHOW UP!!!!  If you do not show up with your dog on its scheduled surgery day, YOU FORFEIT THE DEPOSIT.  You will then have to pay another $30.00 to reschedule.  This may seem unfair, but now another dog who is waiting could have taken your dog's spot and had to wait....and that's not fair either.  Be respectful.  You may call to rescheule the appointment if needed.
